A Day of Preparation

After an incredible night meeting tons of people who love and care about Brynlee, we awoke Thursday morning with a very real sense of peace. Even with nothing planned for the day, we were totally ok. We looked at it almost like our last day before our world revolved around our daughter at every moment. (Although I guess it has been already for awhile now.)

We headed over to the hospital to drop off some Chick-Fil-A to birth Mom, her favorite which Brooke was excited about. We didn’t know that we would be dropping off her lunch just as she was finishing the signing of adoption papers. We ended up just hanging around in the waiting room until birth grandmother could come out and get her lunch. Of course we chatted with her for awhile checking in on everyone and making sure they were doing ok. Every time we speak with them it just seems incredible at how God has worked all this out. As we were talking, our case worker happened to walk out said “HI,” and kept on walking. Later on she told us how excited she was for us, and that she wanted to tell us that the papers were signed and so on. But she didn’t want to do that in front of the birth family.

After leaving there, we got more information from the case worker about what would be happening Friday with getting custody of Brynlee. With that real life information we realized there was some last minute shopping we had to do, of course after getting Sonic. (Again, food and shopping, don’t even say a word!)

We ran to Babies R’ Us for some preemie diapers and formula, a diaper bag and some other things. (Brooke would be able to tell you in more detail. If you like details read her blog, not mine. LOL)

I thought after all this hard work we should do something relaxing, so we hit the pool for awhile and just enjoyed the rest of the afternoon together. Then dinner and laundry, and we’re about to watch a movie together. Our last evening before little Brynlee becomes the star of the show.

Tomorrow is sure to be a big day, we will head to the hospital around 10 to sign papers and then spend part of the morning with the birth family. We aren’t really sure what this will be like but we know it will be special. I’m sure it will be emotional, and I can’t wait for us to all pray together. We will be sure to blog about it as much as we can, not just for all of your to read, but so later on we can be sure that she can hear the entire story of such a very important part of her life.

Please be in prayer for us as we go through this very delicate transition tomorrow, it will be very special, but no doubt very hard on all of us. And then, Brooke and I will have an infant to figure out how to take care of!
