THE COST OF ADOPTING

The cost of adopting an infant from the United States is roughly $27,000. This includes application fees, training fees, home study fees, pregnancy counseling for the expectant parents, and fees regarding placement of the child in our home. Who knew kids could be so expensive even before you have them?

Honestly, we are grateful to have the opportunity to adopt. It may cost money, but it is worth knowing that my health will not be in jeopardy due to pregnancy and that we are able to provide a loving home for a child who needs it.

HOW TO HELP:  THE SUPPORT OF FAMILY & FRIENDS

What we need from you all is simple:

1. Prayer

  • Pray for us as we go through the process of paperwork, fundraising, and waiting.
  • Pray that we will be patient and prayerful as we wait, and that God will prepare us to be the parents He has called us to be.
  • Pray for birthparents all over the world who are making decisions regarding their child. It is a selfless choice to give up your child so
  • that he or she can be taken care of.
  • Pray for health for the mother as she carries our baby.
  • Pray for peace for both birth parents as they make important decisions regarding what family their child will be placed with. We are so grateful for birth parents.
  • Pray for our future baby Gurrad. Pray for baby G’s health.

 2. Financial Support

This is the part I strongly dislike mentioning. I feel like prayer is always mentioned hand in hand with giving money in order to “soften the blow” of asking for cash and credit cards. Ben and I truly want your prayers more than any amount of money you could give us. If you win the lottery or have a secret stash just lying around, however, we won’t turn it down. Teehee.

On our website is an easy way to give to the cost of the adoption. Know that all money given is going straight to adoption fees and nothing else. We are asking family and friends instead of gifts for our birthdays and holiday presents, to give money towards the adoption instead. Whether it be a one time donation or a monthly commitment from your family, we are most grateful for any sacrificial giving to help support us. Please prayerfully consider what type of contribution the Lord would have you make.

I love what the Bible says about us! God the Father already chose us to be adopted into the family of God through a relationship with Jesus. And not only that, He did it and it brought him pleasure. I pray that Ben and I can find peace in knowing that our Daddy God has already chosen our little family and who will be a part of it, and I pray that we will find such joy and pleasure in learning more about our relationship with Abba because of this experience.
